Hey all, I had both of my front CV axles replaced when doing a regear. Shop said intermediate shaft was ok and reused it with the remanned NAPA shafts. Original has 120k on it and from reading this forum most say replace it. But I figured this was a recommended and reputable off-road shop so I deferred to them. Now, About 300 miles later I am still getting vibes and noises that I thought new CV axles would remedy. Recently had front driveshaft replaced, new wheel hubs, and now the new CV's. Have not been at highway speeds yet as I'm breaking in the gears but vibes happen in the 25-40 mph range. Feel it in steering wheel. Pulls hard left too so I know I need an alignment but do not think that would cause the vibrations. Still have vibrations at all speeds and hear a "whump whump" sound that is definitely slower than wheel rotation. Had rear u joints replaced 5k ago too but noticed it was slinging grease when I looked underneath. Could all of my issues be caused by reusing the original intermediate shaft? I also plan on replacing front and rear lower control are bushings next month but the Jeep has been in the shop more than my driveway the last few months so I would like to actually drive and enjoy it for a little while. |

Sounds like tires to me, maybe shocks. Try a load force balance. Mine were computer balanced with a slight vibration then load force balanced. That removed the tire vibration but my intermediate shaft failed. The intermediate shaft is nothing more than a solid shaft with splines cut on each end, not much to fail. It's either good or bad, that shouldn't be an issue unless it's bent. |

If it was worn enough against a new CV it could give you some vibrations. Without seeing it its hard to tell but not the first time a shop has said one was fine and it wasn't But check off what Ted said first |

Alignment rotation and balance helped some. Still get that vibe but not as bad now It's about time to replace front and rear LCA bushings so that will be next. Taking a break for the holidays then back to figuring this out. |

I know if you have a hibdons tire plus they warranty the alignment for 1year or 12k pretty good for $60 |
