Code P0157 and P0157 p/d (pending code) = Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 2.
O2 sensor is located on the passenger side, downstream.

If you've changed this sensor, I'd like your feedback. So far, I've researched it and found:
1) Some say stay away from Bosch O2 sensors.
a) Is that true?
b) Is there a brand you recommend?
(I usually try to stay with OEM – price to me is not an issue. I want it fixed with the right part, the first time.) :D

2) A couple people said it was very difficult to get to the connector.
a) Is that true?
b) Should I take it to the local dealer instead? (I trust them, they do good work).
I’ll be using a jack and working from underneath.

3) Should I spend the $10 for the O2 sensor socket? Looks like a good idea - I have plenty of vehicles to use it on in the future.

Thank you for your time!

OEM is best of course
Socket more than likely won't fit on due to the location of it, up on top with little room between floorboard and top of it.
Wrench takes it right off, no need to take to dealer, easy to change out
If not lifted then yes have to jack it up and support on jackstands , lifted....slide under and swap out

Just changed mine about a month ago. Like Tom said I just used a wrench. Smacked the wrench once with a brass hammer to loosen it and it unscrewed the rest of the way with my fingers. The connector isnt bad once you figure it out, on mine you press in on the black catch on the outside of the connector and pull it apart. There's not a lot of room to work but its doable. OEM is NGK

Thanks for your feedback!

I'll call the local dealer and get the OEM sensor ordered. After I get it installed, hopefully next by next weekend, I'll report back!

Both of my downstream sensors went bad at almost the same time. So close that I hadn't replaced the first check engine code.

Found two new NTK (NGK) sensors on ebay for $25 a pop ($50 total shipped). Used a wrench to take them off not problem. The socket may be needed for sensors in tighter spots but for those two downstream sensors a wrench worked fine.

I highly recommend e-herko on ebay. Great customer service. One of my sensors came in an opened bag and they had no problems offering to replace it. Once I installed it and didn't get any check engine lights for a week or so I said that's ok.

Picked-up the new OEM Mopar O2 Sensor (p/n 56029049AA) for $55 at the dealership and got it installed tonight. The OEM part had a plastic cap over the threads to protect the anti-sieze. It was nice to have not only for future removal, but it also lubricates the threads when you insert the new one. :D

It went pretty well. Unhooked the battery, jacked it up, and put in a jackstand. The sensor broke loose pretty easily using a 7/8" open end wrench.
The challenge was getting the connectors separated. Take your time analyzing the connector on the new sensor so you know how they come apart. Don't pull on the wires!

Thanks again for your help!
