Hello there, so I have pulled out most of the front end, and after a couple of days of just about destroying the LCA's I finally got those darn clevis bushings out with my press, and a big hammer. The front dif with truetrac is almost ready to go back in, the FFD fan shroud is almost fabricated, and I've torn into several other things . But, I didn't take pics of the bushings before I pulled them (silly me thinking I'd find some kind of specs in the manual) and I'm a little worried about how far to insert the clevis bushing, and what way the lower bushings go in (I know, I know ). I assume the metal rod in the center of the clevis bushing is centered perfectly? But it's not even symetrical... It affects how the strut and spring sit so I'm surprised the manual doesn't say more than (put back in like it was) Well, if anyone knows of a good reference besides this pdf KJ service manual I would appreciate it. Or a couple pics of how they sit (I was going to do one, and then the other, but UPS was slow over the holidays, and I got bored...) -mtnman |

ok, stupid question. I just had to pull up the pics online of new LCA's... They went in a heck of a lot easier than removal! I would however advise to use the sawsall method for the clevis bushing versus trying to press them out, unless you buy the special tools (I didn't), because they are at such an angle that it is downright dangerous to press them out (I had various pressing devices flying across my shop). Please pluck this post and put it where bushing talk is |

I'm going to move the thread to general discussions since it's not really CRD or 4x4 specific. Dan |
