if you wait to turn the headlights off after you have already turned the engine off there is like a 1.5 minute delay...if you turn them off before you turn the engine off there is no delay |

You just discovered the "Courtesy 'Get To The House Door' Lights" on your Jeep. A little known feature usually found by accident. Same way as I did. |

I love that feature though. It's awesome for when i get into my garage since my garage door opener light is always burnt out. |

I learned that on a friend's cherokee that I moved for her. I spent quite awhile trying to figure out how to turn the lights off and they eventually went off on their own. Basically, if you turn the lights off before turning off the ignition, the lights turn off. If you turn off the ignition first, the lights will stay on an additional X seconds (30, 60, 90, configurable with the EVIC) - Jeff |

I have always known about this, but how do you configure it? |

I guess great minds think alike. I found it by accident too. I just couldn't get them to shut off so I went inside and had to check a few minutes later to be sure they went off. Courtesy light do come in handy in New Orleans...... |

My favorite is when the neighbor comes over to tell me I left the lights on. |

With the EVIC (overheard computer thingy) you go into the setup and it's pretty straightforward. Without the EVIC, I don't know if it is configurable. |

Great feature, I can adjust the time delay on my 2003 with the overhead display. Knew all along about it as I did read the manual from front to back the first week i got it |

Seriously? If the engine is turning and it's in gear, that force must be going somewhere. If it's not turning the tires, where is it going? If the clutch were weak or something, I'd believe that there's some slippage there, but when I slow my liberty down to a stop without hitting the clutch (even in 4lo first gear) it DOES stall. Granted, that is slowing it down using the brakes on a decline, but I don't see that being any different than an incline. Unless you mean that while sitting on the incline the wheels themselves are slipping just the right amount. I would never suggest actually getting out of the jeep, though |

When I turn the KJ off before I turn the lights off, I can get them off by turning the lights on and off again. Geez, I didn't think that this was a courtesy thing to light the way to the door... |

Pssst, and there's a space for the owners manual in the glove compartment and your sunvisors extend. I think that's it for KJ secrets. |

If the engine is running and its mechanically connected to the wheels, then it must either move or stall. |
