2002 liberty sport - around 70,000 mi mostly stop & go driving -
went to start it & it wouldn't turn over - had power - called aaa for a tow - he tried to charge & that didn't work - towed to shop - mechanic got it to start a couple times then had the same problem - spoke with someone & they said it could be a broken steering column - it's made of aluminum & has a tendency to break - they opened it up & parts fell out - never heard of such a thing & neither has some of my guy friends who are familiar with cars - thoughts please - parts alone are $800 - I do like my car & trust my mechanic - would those in the know sink this much money into this old of a car? will it be safe going forward? thank you - goldie

You are asking that question to Jeep enthusiast... Jeep Enthusiasts--- A family of people known for dropping thousands and thousands of dollars in to 20+ year old Jeeps, adding parts worth way more than the Jeep is anymore. :-)r :ROTFL:

At the end of the day the main factors come in to play. How much do you love that exact specific Jeep of yours? Do you love it enough to spend that money to keep her going? Another thing to think about is how much in mods does she have so and do you want to start all over again? If you got 3 grand or more in suspension plus a grand in armor etc etc another $800 would probably worth keeping it running.
