Post subject:  Help, Jeep won't start after timing belt change

Hi, I may need some help, I have replaced the timing belt on my 07 2.8l KJ with out the pins to locate the camshaft gears, I made my own marks on the gears and removed the belt, I have installed the new belt and rotated the engine 12 times with a spanner to make sure my marks line up. the question is, does the fuel pump need to be perfectly lined up as I may be out by 1 tooth? I have tried to start with brake clean just to make sure their wasn't any other problem, but this did not help. I am strapped for time to get this running before Wednesday night before I go back to work for 2 weeks, any help would be appreciated. Also I don't have any type of scan tool.

Best is to post this in the section below..."Liberty CRD Love the Torque" where you will get all the answers....they will probably give you a hard time for not using the locating pins!
