Don't damage ure stock leather seat covers! I just replaced the passenger upper (seat back) leather cover only. price was over $700!! And the replacement no longer comes with the pocket on the back! :x It was damaged along with the other break-in damage some fool did while stealing my GPS & laptop. Insurance co looked it up in thier price guide and told me they would cover me for about $250 as this is what the book said. When the body shop actually ordered it by VIN it came in at over 7 bills! For a lousy cover! And I lost the rear pocket!! Luckily, the Ins Co couldn't argue as it came directly from a local dlr and the body shop had the invoice for the Ins guy.

Thats just stupid. The leather in these things sucks anyway. I bet if that would of been a good leather, that brick wouldnt of tore it. Mine doesnt have the pocket on the back of the driver either, just the pass.

My dealer told me that I could have all of my cloth replaced with leather for about $1k in my 03' sport. $700 does seem steep for a stinkin cover.

I know that this doesn't help you now but it might help others, Katzkins makes great aftermarket leather seat skins that you can install yourself.

I replaced my cloth seats with katzkins...the leather itself isn't bad, but the problem is still the underlying seat. You can dress up a pig, but it's still a pig. The seat isn't much more comfortable than before. The biggest advantage is that i don't have to worry about every little thing hitting the cloth and leaving a stain.

I am actually surprised that the seats were that much. perhaps the dealer knew an insurance company was going to pay for it so they marked it up. Who knows.

I have been told by a few people here in Moab that the Leather seats are a LOT more comfortable than the cloth seats. Ted (USAFCOP) sat in mine and said it is night and day compared to his seats. Perhaps it is also due to model year. Not sure.

I believe they changed the padding on the 05's, not to sure. I think the leather seats in mine are ok, kinda rough on long trips. I actually think the back seats feel better than the front ones.

Ouch, I think you could have upgraded the whole car to Katskin for that price.
