i searched the forum yesterday to find out how to turn off the horn chirp. the first instructions i found press the remote lock button for more than 4 sec and less than 10 sec, press unlock button while pressing the lock button and release both. this turned off the light chirp. the horn chirp remained second set of instructions: press the remote lock button for more than 4 sec and less than 10 sec, press the panic button and release both. this turned off the horn chirp, but once i start the car and turn it off it reverts back and the horn chirps when i lock it. does anyone know the correct procedure to get rid of the horn chirp? |

Owners manual, on shelf in top of glove box, has instructions. but if you lack the owners manual (PDF copies can be downloaded from the Jeep web site owners section) the instructions are: NOTE: The horn chirp can be enabled or disabled (within 23–50 feet (7–15 meters) of the vehicle) by the following procedure: 1. Press and hold the Lock button on the transmitter. 2. Continue to hold the Lock button, wait at least 4 but no longer than 10 seconds, then press the Unlock button. 3. Release both buttons. 4. Repeating steps 1–3 will restore original transmitter operation. |

I've tried the owners manual version a half dozen times and the online version a couple - and I even took it to the dealer and offered to pay to have the stupid beep killed - no luck anywhere it still chirps. |

If you have the EVIC you can disable it there. |
