Radiator has a leak, it's gotten serious enough that I've got to replace the radiator. When I went to remove the fan shroud, I found there isn't enough room. I've got the heavy duty cooling, so I have a mechanical fan. Does anyone have an idea how to get the sucker past the mechanical fan?

Thanks

p.s. I'm at the stage where I look at the radiator as it hangs on the mechanical fan and think.........."HULK SMASH! (Then I realize I'd still have to get the fan shroud back in, after putting in a new radiator

might be easier to take the fan/clutch assembly loose. Then pull fan and shroud out together. Or look for the 2 piece fan shroud mod on here?

I separated the electrical fan from the fan shroud. Once I did that, it allowed me to move the fan shroud over the mechanical fan, and out of the way. Now, I just have to wait for the radiator to arrive. Evidently, neither Autozone, Advance Auto, or O'reilley carry a radiator with the external oil brackets.
