So when I bought my Liberty it had 2 noticeable dents in it. One rear passenger side door that isn't too bad and one on the passenger front door just behind the handle that actually broke the paint. The damage is basically a crack about 3 inches long and a small dent to go along with it. It isn't too bar, but the paint is broken. Anyhow, I noticed some rust in the crack and I want to fix it. Does anyone know if the Mopar touch up spray paint will match well enough to the rest of the paint. I plan on taking the damage down to metal, filling it in and smoothing out, then hitting it with the Mopar matched color paint. Does anyone have any input on this? If it won't match well enough I may forego it or seek another alternative.
A lot depends on color, and how much the paint has faded .
Some colors fade more than others if not kept waxed etc and if say silver with a lot of metallic in the paint its better to blend in a whole panel.
Some paint supply companies have the tool to match your paint. It actually takes a picture of your paint and matches it the best they can.
One local place I use does this and have never had an issue. Plus they can do spray cans.
They even color matched a new Pearl White Harley color that even they had not supplied the dealers with.
Fenders matched perfectly to the tank. The dealer where we bought the bike couldn't believe it and had it on the show room floor for a couple of month one winter
