Ok so last night I was moving vehicles around in my driveway and I pulled the jeep out and while I was pulling it back into the driveway it died. I tried restarting it and it would turn over and immediately die again. Battery and starter are a non issue as the problem persisted even while jumpstarting it.

Now this morning it started up and I let it warm up for a good 15 minutes before attempting to move it. As soon as I shifted into reverse it died again.

What could possibly cause this as I'm stumped. Last night I was thinking something was frozen since it only ran for 3 minutes before dying. But clearly that's not the problem since it was pretty much fully warmed up before I shifted it.

First thing I'd check would be the battery terminals.
Is it idling okay in park?
How much gas is in the tank?

Terminals are nice and clean, was idling ok in park and there's at least 14 gallons in the 18 gallon tank. I was able to drive it to work and I'm back on break now so hopefully it was an isolated incident and won't occur again. My best guess was due to the temperatures last night (8*F) that caused the problems.

Can you rule out that you didn't just turn it off by accident with your leg?
I've done that twice.

what about that old problem of the TC draining due to a tranny filter that doesn't have the the needed valve? Was the fluid and filter changed recently? That caused stalls like you described when put in gear, or was it when it shifted to second?

Fluid and filter were changed about 10-13k ago and it cut off when I put it in reverse
