radio bezel

I'm looking for a spare radio bezel for my 05 renegade. I was looking on ebay, and I came across 2 auctions. One lists that it is from a 03 liberty and says it will only fit 02-04 liberties. The other says it is from an 05. Now, to me, they look exactly the same and look exactly like the one in my liberty currently.

Can anyone confirm that the radio bezel changed from 04 to 05?

I think the photo for the 02-04 is wrong. Unless I am mistaken, the older liberties had the cigarette lighter in a slightly different location in that bottom tray. I forget where exactly, maybe somebody who has an 02-04 can post a photo?

In any case, both of those photos look like the bezel I have on my 05 (except the one I have is the carbon-fiber look)

That's what I was thinking. I haven't seen many 02-04 interiors, but I see my 05 everyday and both of those pictures look like mine (minus the carbon fiber stuff.)

I have an 03 sport, and I was looking at the silver bezzel for mine and I was told that the 05 and up does not quit fit rite. It had a very small change in the cig area.
But to me they look the same.
So I really do not know if it is differant from the 02-04 years.

Well, I e-mailed the seller of the 03 one and his reply is this:
Hello,
It may be possible that it will fit an 05, the part number is 5KD13DX9AA if you contact your local Jeep dealer they will be able to tell you for sure if it will fit your vehicle.

I hate asking all these questions, but do you think those part numbers would change just for colors? My Renegade has the carbon fiber stuff and I believe others have just a solid color. I guess my question is, would the sport bezel fit a renegade bezel even though it's a different part number?

Also, where'd you find that?

i've got a parts number cd...but i always doublecheck the numbers by putting them in here and make sure the right part comes up.

I would guess the only thing that changes is the finish on the bezel and that they are interchangable. I'm almost positive that i've read threads where sport owners have replaced their bezels with ones from a limited. And for what the msrp is on one of those bezels, you can almost get a whole aluminum or real carbon fiber dash kit and do the whole cabin.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. Well, the ones on ebay are going for around $20 so far... I basically want it because I am trying to put a 7" widescreen LCD where the factory radio is. It will require modification and I want to keep my factory one so I can replace it if I ever get rid of the vehicle.

welcome...i got an extra off ebay for basically the same reason. At first i was going to put in some switches and a second lighter where the useless cubby hole is. Its evolved into a remote radar detector and switches...as high dollar as those bezels are new, its good to have a spare to beat up on. Good luck with you project.

Well, the response from the guy selling the bezel out of an 05 Liberty is saying it is part # 5KD13DX9AB. That's exactly one letter off. Hmmmm?

When I purchased, the dealer said he would swap my Sirius radio from my Land Rover that I traded in. When they did that, they hired an outside moron to do the work. He cut the bezel on the side because he used the same mounting bracket from the Rover. So now the bezel looks like crap behind the Sirius radio. It also does not fit flush to the dash anymore. I have complained about this, but they said they had to do that. Now i live 1 hour from there, and don't want to ever go back there. So, basically I need a new bezel - aluminum looking for an 02 Liberty.

My 02 bezel is very different. On the bottom from left to right I have a power outlet, cigarette adapter, and an ashtray.

That part is still listed as a center bezel on chrysler parts direct...just doesn't say what year. Since it's one letter up from the '05, maybe its for an '06? Just a guess, wouldn't be the first time somebody on ebay gave out inaccurate info.

parts cd lists it as:
5072 479AA Chrome / Metalic with Black Ash Tray (Limited)
when i went to chrysler parts direct and put that number in, it said that its the old part number, and the new part number is:
5605 2055AA Instrument panel - Instrument panel - Center bezel - Limited Limited 2002

Thats funny. I have an 02 sport and from left to right its the cigarette lighter, power outlet, then ashtray.

Mine too, I think the 02 was unique while the 03-6s are the same.
