I don't like using RTV, so I'm looking for a gasket. There are many on the market, and I want one that will seal well for a long period of time. I'm installing a rear diff cover that has a magnetic drain plug and dip stick, so this will be permanent mount until I get lockers. Thanks for the help!

Lube Locker. Nothing but the greatest reviews. And if you start to leak on a trail usually just the tightening of a bolt will stop it. They're a hefty price (for a gasket....) but they "could" be used multiple times (many people have reused the gaskets multiple times but Lube Locker will not back reusing their product). That way after your lockers are here you haven't got to reinstall another new gasket.

I've never used Lube Locker, but it seems like a good way to go. Thanks for reminding me!

When we did my gears a few years back the Jeep Tech glued a paper gasket to my Crane diff cover.
Last time I changed the diff fluids a couple of months ago still good to go.
Changed it 6 times so far, run the bolts out, cover comes right off ( no prying it off ) , wipe it off and right back on
No leaks or anything , guess its a poor mans lube locker
Doubt it would work with a stock cover but does great with the Crane
Of course only for professionals

Been using black RTV for 13 years and 194K miles now not a drop leaked. Clean it well and use sparingly.
