My 2006 6 speed manual had the pedal barely pressed (not completely like you are supposed to. I was in a hurry) and the liberty cranked for a split second and then went totally dead. No key fob,fob working, nointerior lights, no dashboard, can't even open doors electrically. Just totally dead. What did I fry? Thanks |

I'd look my fuses over, too. |

Check the battery and all battery connections, all the fuses inside the cabin and under the hood...good chance that the battery has completely died. The ignition switch or the Ignition Actuator Pin that operates the ignition switch may have broken...a common problem...so the ignition is not turning ON at all. To check this, remove the plastic covers over the steering column...two femaleTorx screws and then remove the ignition switch off the rear of the tumbler assembly...a smaller Torx screw that requires a male "security" torx bit that has a hole drilled down its center. If the Actuator pin has broken you will see bits of metal or plastic falling out...you can use a small flat screwdriver to turn the ignition switch. |

Wow, it was just a corroded negative cable. Cleaned it up and I am good to go. Thanks for the responses. It really seemed like it was something else. BUT, you sure need to check the simple stuff first!
