I have been in touch with ALL J about the rack I received, and have given up on actually getting help getting it mounted. As much as I wish it were the Jeep, it's not. The rack is bad-ass. But almost everything involved in mounting it is just wrong from vague instruction(for a CRD), brackets (replaced by Quinn and Heather), to one of the threaded inserts, and even mounting holes in the rack itself. I am keeping it, but I wouldn't have have bought it had I known it was going to still not be installed this long after it arrived. I am wondering if it's just the last batch, or if anyone else had this kind of issue?

I have one in mine, I could take some pics tomorrow if you want. Also - there is a front and back to the rack. I found install instructions here - http://www.boulderbars.com/Installation ... ck.doc.doc

Thanks, I appreciate it. Apparently the CRD's and a couple specific years don't have the indentation shown on the directions. So the directions included say to eyeball it if you have a CRD. So I did that to install the brackets to find that one of the two threaded inserts wasn't threaded for the included bolts. I finally get in the ones I ordered to find that the lower hole of two in the metal you are enlarging isn't the right one for my Liberty, even though that is how the pictures show it. Immediately the rack slants down about 10 degrees toward the rear before bolts are in. Quinn suggested raising the rear by eye to get it level, but if i do I'm thinking I'll bend the rack because the front brackets are bent in such a way as to decline in about a 10 degree angle front to rear. Then I found the holes for the brackets don't line up. I was able to force the fronts to work, but the rear brackets stick in an inch too far for the holes to line up. So I already know I have to re-drill those holes in the rack. Days like this I wish I had a simple vehicle with more support like a wrangler or an early bronco.

So it's installed. I had to force it in place, I have a lot of scrapes on the interior panels. But I am happy it's in. I know I drove Heather and Quinn nuts with questions.
