With the thoughts of getting a winch running through my head, and having the time to replace my battery before winter hits. Is there any advange to getting a side/top post battery for running a winch? The normal top mount posts can be used for the jeep, and the side mounts can be used for the winch.

Based on the position of the side terminal in relation to the battery, they will be "facing" the firewall.

No battery on the market is rated to run a winch off of the side posts and will void any warranty.

Only run winch cables off top posts only, they can pull over 400amps and side posts are only rated at like 200amps max.

Or, recable Jeep to use side terminals. Then hook winch to the top terminals.
