Hey, I'm sticking with 245/70's

I tried the jeep wave again (finally) in my usual spot after putting on those new length rear shocks. It stayed planted, so I kept trying until one tire (right side) was just starting to lift off.

What I found was my left side bump stopped, and the right shock didn't top out. My left tire was just starting to rub the inside plastic in that area aft of the shock bolt. The tire stopped exactly so I won't get binding.

I would feel OK going to a 245/75 but not a 255/70 or wider. I don't think these folks are getting maximum flex without binding with the bigger tires, lift, and/or wheel spacers. You would have to put a heck of a lift and widen the stance to get back potential loss from poor calculations. Boy would that add up $$$

The width is the issue when stuffed, not the height. The KJ is fine the way it was made, made a bit better with minimum effort within a formula.

Seems a 2.5" lift & 245/75's is about as good as it gets.

Its almost like the KJ was designed by people with engineering degrees???

Drive effortlessly over obstacles, why put yourself in a bind?

So, next time you are all bound up and think its not rolling very well because of HP or being stuck....remember there is a diff between people wearing these kinda T-Shirts: http://www.thespacestore.com/naroscadt.html
and this guy: http://www.popsci.com/popsci/aviationsp ... drcrd.html
