After getting tired of my light being in a pouch on the back of my seat cover and being inspired by the light mount talk last week or so, I went out and bought brackets. I want to put it horizontal on the side of the center console...along the driver side of the shifter. I mounted my CB on the other side and it's working out well. I'm just curious to see where you guys have your Mags mounted.

Add me to the side of the driver's seat list for a 4 cell and a 3 cell on the passenger seat.

Mag on driver's side, fire ext on passenger side.

PS - spend the $20 and replace your standard MAG bulb with the LED one. WOW! AND the batteries will last like 5 times longer!

I picked up the LED upgrade at Bass Pro Shop here in Vegas for $10.99. I agree; "WOW!

Don't buy the MagLite LED Drop-in. Buy this one:

http://www.batteryjunction.com/tle-6k2.html

It's much brighter.

Wow, you drive facing backwards? That must be a neat trick

Mine is on the side of the drivers seat, and I also found the LED upgrade for $11 at BassPro. Some of the best money I have spent lately 8)

I concur with the Terralux idea - they are MUCH brighter than ANY other LED upgrade out there. I couldn't believe how bright they are. The batteries will last a lot longer as well, in fact I believe they run more eficiently than the Maglite upgrade!

I mounted my mag light on my drivers seat using 2 regular Quick Fists. (http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index. ... etail&p=90)

It works great and does not get in the way at all!

...hate to get started on LED flashlights....there are MUCH brighter ones out there for the about the same price as the TLE-300. The other one mentioned only uses a P4 LED...the newer P7 LED is WAAAAYY brighter, several times. I doubt it will be available as a drop in for Mag or Streamlights very soon though.

Heck, even the multi-Q5 LED flashlights outshine my Streamlight Ultra Stinger.

Here's an example on Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/UltraFire-700L-3-CREE-Q5-LED-Flashlight-18650-DSD-a90a_W0QQitemZ380077251721QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item380077251721&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A3%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

...and:
http://cgi.ebay.com/UltraFire-700L-3x-CREE-WC-Q5-LED-700-Lumens-Flashlight_W0QQitemZ280274579762QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item280274579762&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A3%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

...unfortunately, most LED stuff, even for Mag and Streamlight, is foreign made these days. Sad, but true.

For THAT, you'd need something like this ex-tank mounted 1kw xenon searchlight from the '60's era!
