Will an RB(1) radio work in an 02 Libby?

The lady at jeep parts desk said she didn't thin it would. She also said I would need to get a new dash wiring harness ($2500) and that might work.

This was during my 7 hour stay at the local Jeep dealer.

They replaced plugs, cleaned out throttle body and replaced a gasket between the tranny and transfer case. No more low, shaking idle, no more stalling.

Still curious about the RB(1) radio. I played with it for a few hours, listened to Howard Stern in the new car showroom. I really want to add one to my 02 Libby.

You have an 02 Liberty with an RB(1) - Thats the one with the 4.5 inch screen, navi, and sirius radio, right?

I have the RB1. How do I tell if the sirus stuff was installed? The build sheet says it came with the standard 6 disc in dash, so the first owner had to have changed it to the RB1.

If Sirius is installed, you'll have an antenna on the rear roof.

I asked there how well this unit works off road as far as topo or trail maps, gps etc..

The RB1 has a "trail" feature where you can record a trail that you are running on the map. You can then reference that trail as a previous destination. The RB1 does provide coordinates and elevation but that's about it. If you're looking for something to show actual graphical topography then the RB1 doesn't have that. As for the pavement, I've found the directions to be spot on when it comes to in-town and long distance driving.

As an FYI, I picked up my RB1 on eBay for about $800 shipped and swapped out my in-dash stock 6-disk radio for it with no problems. Here's a previous post discussing the RB1 and RB4 units. There are some links in there to comparisons too. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=3465
