I read in the owners manual that there was a way to set it so that all the doors unlock when the drivers door is opened...
Unfortunately there were only directions to do this via the overhead mini console... which is possibly the one thing I regret not getting! heh heh

Bah who needs it when I have skid plates!

Anyway if someone knows the voodoo required let me know as it is a pain in the.... you know the rest... 8)

Here's a link to a post on Jeep KJ Country about how to adjust the settings with your keyless remote.

To silence the honk when locking the door on 05-06 KJs: Hold the lock button for 4-6 seconds, then press the panic button while still holding the lock button. Release both at same time.

Thanks but unfortunately that is not what I was looking for...

That procedure was outlined in the manual...

What I want to accomplish is having all the doors unlock when I turn off the vehicle and open my drivers door...
Again there is a way to do this if you have the overhead console / mini computer...
I was just hoping there was a low-jack way of getting it done as well...

In my 2006 you can set the all doors unlock on exit with the EVIC.

This is funny :-P The poor guy starts a topic with "How do you set the unlock-all-doors without the EVIC" and everybody tells him how to do it with the EVIC...

Unfortunately, if it's not listed on that jeep KJ country page of "how to set options without the EVIC", it's unknown how to set it, and possibly can only be done with the EVIC (or at a dealership)

Se7enLC,

I am glad someone *finally* understood what I was trying to say! heh heh
Oh well... if it can't be done it isn't a big deal... bugs my wife more than me!

Anyone know if you can install an EVIC after the fact? or is there toooo much work involved?

I know it's possible, and it has been done on earlier models (2002-2003 or so). I haven't heard of anyone installing an EVIC in their 2005 yet

I think you can also make those changes if you have the DRBIII scantool. Problem is, one of those puppies would cost a few grand, so only auto repair / dealership places have them

I put one in my '05 used an '04 evic. There seems to be more of them popping up on ebay lately, hopefully that will drive the price down some for those who are looking.

This thread over at JeepKJ has a link to an webpage with detailed instructions, it should give you an idea of whether you believe its worth the time/expense. The has a little bit of discussion closer to the end from a few other who put them in their '05. Not sure how much different the '06s are. My experience wasn't too painful. Cutting the headliner was the most tedious part, other than that it was just running a few wires down the A pillar to the locations specified on that website.
