i droppped my tires to 15 psi to go onto the beach. when i inflated them back up to 38 the tire pressure systems keeps blinking every 10 minutes. the owners manual says there is a system fault and needs to be reset, do i have to go to the dealer to have it reset? will this happen every time? thanks bryan |

Nope, that is not normal. I bet one of your sensors is whacked, or your spare doesn't have proper pressure. |

the sensors are fine this happened before when i got my tires rotated. the place where i got it rotated had to "reset" the sensors. |

38 psi seems a bit high. Your spare blinks if off from the rest. I would check your spare and see what pressure it is. I've had my tires down and the light would be on steady, but when my spare was low during winter, it would blink. |

set pressure to factory specs and disco the battery for about 20 mins or so and then hook it back up and see if it comes back. Parakeet |

So the TPM checks the spare tire as well? WHY? |

Answer yourself this question, What good is a spare if it only has 10 lbs of air in it when you get a flat? |

Answer yourself this question, What good is a spare if it only has 10 lbs of air in it when you get a flat? Good point, I supposed that could happen. Especially since you wouldn't notice a spare that was low on pressure since it doesn't have the weight of the vehicle on it to make it appear flat. Dashboard light blinking: Spare tire pressure incorrect Dashboard light solid: running tire incorrect EVIC will say if it is a normal tire, a spare tire, or a TPM system problem as well. The spare tire sensor is only checked once a day, I think, and it doesn't just check to see if the tires are within a certain range, it checks to see if they are all within a certain tolerance of eachother. So if the spare is at 30psi and the 4 running tires are at 38, the spare will be called low, even though having all 5 running tires at 30 would not be considered a problem. I say check to make sure all 5 tires are the same pressure and drive on them for a few days (checking every day or two) before taking it into a dealer. Chances are the light will go out on its own in a few days if you correct the pressure in all the tires. |

My low air pressure indicator had been coming on ever since I picked up a nail and put that tire.. patched... on the tailgate. After two weeks of the light coming on, and after reading this thread, I checked the "new" spare tire. The tire shop left it about 10 psi lower that the others. I added air to the spare and the warning light went out. Now I know about the spare. thanks |

You could just follow the reset prompts on the EVIC and reset the tire indicators. The donut magnet set around each valve stem. EVIC tells you which order to do them and beeps when each tire resets. |
