Listen gang, I have an issue that started the other day. While I am driving, my part time 4x4 indicator lights up for a few seconds and then shuts off. This happends only while I am driving. Does any one have any insite to why this is doing this? Has it happend to you? |

just an issue with the sensor, i've had the same problem ever since i took the KJ seriously off-roading, but your t-case is still staying in 2hi, so no worries there. Mine's a bit different though, my sensor got knocked out of whack just enough that it's on in 2hi, and off in 4hi...kinda strange, have to get under there and take a look at it soon, hopefully this Wed. |

Ya know, That is what I was thinking about. I know that it is not engaging into 4wd because I can feel it. When this started, I have noticed that my leg rest against the 4wd shifter while I am driving. I was thinking by doing this over the last 3 years something must have worn out. Who knows. I was thinking about this weekend to take it apart and have a look at it and see if it is something simple. Thans for your reply on this Savage |

I doubt you did any damage to the sensor by leaning on the shifter, the sensor is on the upper half on the driver's of the t-case i believe. Good luck...let me know what you find... |

Savage, I got a chance to take a look at the sensor. You nailed it man. The sensor needs to be replaced. I will do that some time soon. There really is nothing wrong or being affected by it except the light may burn out ..... Thanks for you input on this. |

Same issue here but with an '06 it makes a fairly big difference. 4 low turns off stability control, turns traction control to partial off and changes the throttle-by-wire sensitivety. Feels like the engine lost half its power when this happens and not pleased with the stability control randomly shutting off with my GF driving it. Plus I get the call asking "why is the yellow dashboard light of a jeep with two squigly lines behind it on?" |

man dude, sounds like you have something other then just a messed up sensor. I would bring that issue to a stealership and get it fixed. |

I beleive it's just the selector position sensor. Tells the computer it's in 4 low when it isn't and the computer does what it is programmed to do. Love'em electronic goodies. |
