Last week I had my struts replaced at 4WHEEL PARTS(I was feeling lazy) and on my drive back to South Dakota the right strut(Ihave the skyjacker lift)un srewed itself from the lower spring plate. It was a wonderful feeling when I was traveling on east bound I-90 at 75 MPH when I heard a loud "clank" and the front right of my KJ dropped about a inch.I pulled over and checked what happened,it also was raining really hard at the time.Thank god I was only about a 100 ft from the first exit to Sheridon WY,pulled off and parked in the K-MART parking lot. This was at 5:30 am and I had no jack stands so I had to wait until K-MART opened. When I got some jackstands I ripped apart the right front(It more or less fell apart)to inspect the damage,I found they used anti-seize intead of thread-lock on the strut. After 3 hours and 1 call to napa(had to have a spring compressor delievered to me)I was up and running again.I can not say how important it is to use thread lock,After calling the 4WHEEL PARTS place that did the work and told them what happened they asked alot of questions and said they would call back. When they called back they said they are refunding the full price of the struts and labor plus sending a set of new struts, springs, and bottom spring plate, not to bad I thought, crappy service but they took care of me.So again I can't express the importance of using thread-lock,it may save your life.By the way some of you here on this forum complain about the upper a-arm touching or being to close to coil spring with the skyjacker lift,I'm thanking god it was, that upper a-arm being so close to the spring was the only thing that keeped the spring on my KJ,if it wasn't the spring would have came out of the vehicle and that could have been very bad(for me and my KJ).Just thought I would share this with you all and if you do your own wrenching please don't be afraid of thread-lock,it may be a pain to get back off later but it's more peace of mind then anything.

People make mistakes, the fact that they are going to do something to make it right speaks highly of the company and this with just one phone call. Most would blow you off or at least make you drive it back to their shop.
