Anyone heard of this brand. It is activated by a cable instead of air. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with it. Here's a link. http://www.4wheelparts.com/4wp/products ... in&man=OXL |

It's just as strong if not stronger then a ARB airlocker, you have to use a special diff cover that the cable mounts to(it comes with the locker)and the cable moves a shift fork(in the diff cover)to lock the rearend.Real simple,no air compressor to fail,no air lines to break or freeze up.Only draw back is they only make them for dana30(not the KJ's),dana 35(again won't work with the dana 35's that some KJ's have),dana 44,and dana 60's.New 1 guy that had one in his dana 60's(old ford pickup) he loved them and no airlines to worry about. |

What does the KJ need? I see they have one for the "Dana 30 3.73 and up, 27 spline" on the OX site... Sucks for the guy with a 3.55 though... Send them a message if you are interested in a new product though... http://www.ox-usa.com/ |

The Dana 30 one won't work with the Dana 30A in the KJ. I have heard much good about them, very little bad. Contemplating it for the Dana 30 I build for my SFA swap. (but still leaning toward ARB's) |

I would love to see an electric locker for the Chrysler 8.25 29 spline.. Just 2 wires to hook up.. No airlines.. Wires are a whole lot easier to repair on the trails.. Ben |

Ben That would be the Auburn ECTED. They just told me it would be a year until it's in the 8.25 |

Ben That would be the Auburn ECTED. They just told me it would be a year until it's in the 8.25 i have known guys that have put the aurburn in the rear and complained of loading and unloading causing some major crazy axel bounce or hop and that leads to snaped shafts it all has to do with the ball ramp thing not locking quite right my feelings on lockers are keep it simple in the rear go detroit the arb's work great but can fail as well as the ox's the ox's will some times get mud and water in the cable and if you gao a long time and dont use it when you need it it is stuck in my .02 arb is the best "selectable" detroit is the best "auto" |

the arb's work great but can fail as well as the ox's the ox's will some times get mud and water in the cable and if you gao a long time and dont use it when you need it it is stuck in my .02 arb is the best "selectable" detroit is the best "auto" I just had 2 places try to talk me out of Detriot Lockers. They pushed the ARB & the TrueTrac, since I'm 95% hwy & 5% rock. OX is moot, since they don't support us yet. |

what did they say was wrong with them? they dont fail ,as far as i know, they give 100% lock up 100% of the time and dont have the weird quirks of the power trax yes they are not as highway friendly as the tru trac but if you play in rocks then a tru trac in any vehical with limted flex will be almost usless so that leaves you with 1 choice ARB some folks seem to think that a tru trac will lock up 100% with a wheel off the ground and some fancy breaking but if you only have a tru trac on one end and the other is open it will help but very little it is limited thus the name limited slip if a tru trac were in any way compairable to the detroit or any true locker for that matter then trac tec would be dumb to make both but they are not the same not by a long shot if you want to go cheep and want to get 100% lock up just weld the spider gears |

the one place (rieder) told me that the on-road experience would be annoying, and dangerous for my wife. DTS told me that DL's were only for larger tire systems. a KJ with a 235/75/16 wouldn't be big enough to deal with the tourqe. How bad are the DLs on the hwy? My wife already curses the 6spd. Maybe this will keep her out of it... |
