I have a 3 week old 06 Renny which makes a creaking noise every morning as I drive out of my underground parking.... It only occurs when I am driving very very slow... tapping the brakes or turning seems to initiate the noise...

This started happening 4 days after we picked it up... It sat outside through a downpour and then my wife noticed the noise when she started to drive home... A week after we picked it up I had it in the dealership but of course it wouldnt make the noise for them... They are trying to attribute the noise to a break in period...

It gets very humid in my underground parking during the summer and the last couple of days have been extremely moist and the noise continues until we get out to the street...

Anybody???

Water in the air = Rust on the rotors. Have you looked at the rotors before venturing out of the garage? I bet that the pads are just scrubing off the rust as you first start out each day.

My drums squeak every morning as I back out of the driveway, but I assume that is just from the dust that can not escape and is looking for a place to go.

I get the same "moan" when I press ever so lightly on the brake. It is fairly common from what I hear and read on the web.

light moan?

I had bearing issues with my last car (Mercury Cougar) and when I heard this sound in the morning it brought back A LOT of painful memories...

Glad to know that it isn't just my KJ though...
The noise does go away after some braking or driving for a few mins...

If this is a brake pad issue would installing a different kind of brake pad solve the issue?

Thanks again for all the replies!

I dunno, mine did it all the time last year, but I haven't heard it this year.

I would say if you got ceramics that it would go away.

We get the same moan noise and the dealer told us it's just the metallic pads and time for seating. If you complain enough they'll take everything apart and clean it well, but you'll still get the noise off and on.
