I took a peice of angle iron and mounted it behind the spare tire carrier bolts. It works great sturdy. I have the ant. mounted on a large spring and a quick disco so if I want to open the glass with it on there I can by bending it at the spring or take it off and toss it in the rear. Parakeet |

Check out the Firestik MK-204 (I think) mounting kit. You can bolt it into the rear doorjamb, so the antenna is more or less on the rear corner of the Jeep. There are some pics of it in the electronics section, Gringo Loco and a few others have it mounted like that. |

http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... php?t=8657 if you have the light bar, this works really well. i finished mine last week, and had great reception on the trail, and stood up to the abuse. |

I like that location better than mine. But to do that I'd either have to custom-fab a bracket, drill the hood, or both, so I opted to keep at on the nose |

Standard trucker mirror mount with a foldover bracket added on top. I had to Dremel off the top part of the sliding sleeve on the foldover due to the spring stopping it from sliding up to fold down. Got the idea from here: http://4x4icon.com/offroad/cb/cobra_75_wx_st_cb.htm He has the spring/foldover reversed so it works properly. BTW it's pretty stealth when lowered. Because the rack tops out at around 6' 8" it's not really noticeable unless you know it's there. |
