| Post subject: | Heavy duty cooling package parts. |
Hey, I am wanting to upgrade to the heavy duty cooling group. Does anyone know what parts come in it if I were to order it form the stealership and install it myself? Eventually I will get a reciever hitch and tow a small camper. Thanks |

I am currently in the process of looking for a mechanical radiator fan to accent my electric fan which failed on me after a temp sensor went bad. I really like the idea of having the mech fan that always spins when the engine is on. |

I believe either the tow package or off-road package comes with a Powersteering cooler, tranny cooler (i think is standard equip anyway), Mechanical fan, 160 AMP Alternator, and either tow hitch and wiring or skids and rock rails depending which package includes the heavy duty cooling. |

How hard is it to convert from electric to mechanical fan? Also how hard is it to install the power steering cooler? |

I don't know the exact answer to your second question, but with a mechanical fan, we still have the electric one as well. You would need to get a mechanical fan and shround from a wrecked KJ or other parts venue and get a longer serp. belt. |

Ive been looking into this and have yet to figure out of libbys with the mech fan have a different electric fan or not. If they are the same then it would be no problem. Ohh, My 04 already has the bigger shroud on it too. They may of stopped doing that on the 05's though. |

I have an Mechanical Fan, and Electric Fan and the big shroud. Power Steering, Tranny coolers as well. |

KJ-Dave Just to let you know ! I towed a 20' 2k lb. boat for 60 miles on my 03 KJ Sport and had no probs at all ! I did put a class 3 hitch on it just for safty though . I also have a 99 Coleman pop-up camper which is lighter and I expect the same results with it . I would get stiffer spring in the rear though , My Libby does swearve easyally on the road which is way I'm looking for stiffer springs from a CRD model or shocks ! Oh yea I also had my overdrive off at the time . Good luck and let us know what you come up with . Dave |
