Hello: I have a 2006 Liberty CRD with tow package. Just picked up a new motorcycle trailer and brake lights and turn signals do not seem to work when connected to my CRD... but works ok connected to another tow vehicle... Trailer has 4 pin wiring connector and I used the converter that came with the CRD. Ideas? |

I would buy a tester that plugs into the 4 plug adapter. You could also use a multimeter to check it. Check the fuse first. |

I have a similar issue with mine. The right turn signal on the trailer will not work when the brake is applied. It works fine otherwise and the signal on the jeep itself works when the brake is applied. Strange |

Did you make sure you have enough blinker fluid?

Update: I purchased a tester that plugs into the 4 pin plug and the problem seems to be not with the trailer but on the jeep side. The tester shows power but no blinker signal and no brake light signal. Any ideas? |

Could be. Grounds will always get you with electrical stuff. |

Hi. Did you get it fixed. I went through hell with my Jeep. Everything was working fine but I find that the right turn signal will not blink when the brakes are depressed. The left if perfect but not right. I bought a tester and the tester shows power and everything but no blinking. I'm so tired of this nonsense. I have a U-Haul harness. |

Not to rub salt in the wounds...but this is why I spent the extra cash on the MOPAR trailer harness. It is sealed up tight and hooks in to the Jeep's wiring as designed. On the Uhaul harness I would check the ground connection and check the plugs themselves as they may be cracked or loose and causing the short. |

Slowly I think I will justify spending the extra money. I've spent so much time trying to fix this. If the ground was loose, would this not cause all the lights to work intermittently versus only the right blinker when brakes are depressed? All else works perfectly. It blinks right as long as the brakes are not depressed. |

I paid $50 for a harness with the sealed box, it lasted 1 1/2 years. Then even without a trailer hooked up, it would blow my left side parking lights. Had to replace it with another brand, another $50. So far so good, but only been a month. |

My Chevy Silverado and the Wrangler were not wired the same when I hooked up to the utility trailer. I switched two wires on the plug and it cured things. Get a tester that has a ground on one end and an "ice pick" probe. Turn your electrics on one thing at a time and match things up by process of elimination. I have one plug now for Jeeps and the same plug for the Chevy works just fine for mu buddy's Ford. I'll bet your trailer worked just fine before you plugged it into a Jeep. Also, when you tow a Jeep, you'll want to add diodes too...It's a Jeep thing. |

It blinks right as long as the brakes are not depressed. Grounds are the problem 99% of the time. But if you are the one percent it could be the flasher since it is the right side giving you trouble. A remote chance a bulb could possible cause the problem. |

Thanks for the reply. I have also used a flat 4 tester and it simply does not blink I have ordered a new converter from Cequent. Are those any good ? |

I got mine from etrailer.com First one was made by Hoppy, this one is I think Reese. I think probably one or two companies make them and then everyone else puts the name on them. All are around 50 bucks. |
