I just dropped off my libby at a Seattle dealership to have a rear pinion leak fixed under warranty. I bought my 02 new and have 65k. They called back and said they looked up my VIN and that I have to pay a $100 deductible. Is this complete bs? I've had a couple other issues taken care of in Portland, OR and never heard of a deductible. |

may not be bs. I have an extended warranty till like 108,000 miles, 100 dollar deductible. It's just how the plan works. Review your extended warranty for more info. It's a HECK of a lot better than paying 5-600 bucks |

I think the deductable only applies to some repairs, not sure which ones or why. My "Service Contracts DaimlerChrysler" card says "Deductable 100" right on it (I got an extended warranty). I haven't yet had to pay a deductable for warranty repair (only real warranty work so far has been an O2 sensor). Maybe the factory warranty is no-deductable, and the extended is deductable? Did you have a factory 7/70 bumper-to-bumper (do they even have that?), or is it the extended warranty? |

The factory warranty is no deductible. If I understand this correctly, once you roll over to the extended warranty, there's a 100 dollar deductible unless the total costs less than 100 bucks (very unlikely). |

as far as i knew, 3/36 was no deductible, but outside of that but within the factory 7/70, there was a $100 deductible. |

Sean is correct... I have 3/36 bumper to bumper and 7/70 powertrain. I don't know if you would call it extended, it was part of the deal when I bought it new. Anyhoo, I called Chrysler and they read me the fine print of which says no deductible prior to 36k and $100 thereafter up to 70k. |

Hes right. I would say if you took it to a local mechanic it may be cheaper than $100. |

you service contract could have no deductable if you paid more to get it. I worked for a dealership and I've seen Maxi-care Service contracts with 0 deduct all the way up too $200 deduct. The 7/70 warr. comes with the 100 deduct. That 7/70 is powertrain only, unless you pay to upgrade, and most of the powertrain parts covered are high dollar so 100 bucks aint too bad. IMHO Parakeet |
