Well, I'm screwed! After a LOT of research back in 2003, I bought a 10/100k B2B aftermarket warranty from 1SourceAutoWarranty.com. It was a top of the line warranty. The operative word being WAS. My KJ is at my local mecahnic for rear brakes. worn tie rod ends, and that stupid rear parking brake cam isn't working and it wore out the brake pads on my parking brake! I was calling to see if my warranty might cover some of this, and found, well, long story short and I found that the state of HI put a cease and decist order and declared them insulvent! Now I'm filing claims for some of my $1k back that I paid in premium. Anyone know if I can get a Jeep extended warranty at this late date? I seem to recall throwing out the last mailing saying "last chance." Is it cheaper to buy it direclty from DCX or do I have to go through dealer? |

Go search online to get the best prices. You don't have to buy at a local dealer. Plenty of them do it online for a LOT less and they give you the requirements right there. |

I used to be into VW's and they are expensive to fix. Warrantybynet has paid for itself on my Passat and an old Scirocco I had. I always got the plan were anything NOT listed was covered. These warrantees were purchased to extend the manufacturer ones. They inspect the vehicle and then start the warranty. Might be worth checking out. No hassels on claims but you do need to prove maintenance for some types of repairs. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP ALL YOUR RECEIPTS AND MAINTENANCE RECORDS!! |

I've said this a hundred times and quite a few times on here. DON'T GET AN AFTERMARKET WARRANTY!!! I have delt with most of them and there isn't a good one in the bunch. They will try and deny your claim for any little thing. When I was a service advisor I would call and the first thing they would ask is " Is the vehicle stock." "Does it have oversized tires", "Are there any aftermarket components on the vehicle" Long story short is they charge ungodly amounts of money for this piece of mind and then stick it too you when you have to use it. Get a DC service contract if you can it is worth the extra money when it comes time to use it. I can't say this enough stick with the manufactures service contract it will you kick yourself again if you don't. I don't mean to be a jerk but see what happened when you got the aftermarket one last time. Parakeet |

The only reason I will consider an OEM warranty now or in the future is for the deep pockets. I had two claims under this warranty and they paid (worth about $400). don't get me wrong, I'm out my money for now until the liquidator works his magic. |

Doh! I didnt think of the mods-I seem to remember they specifically denied mods now that you mentioned it. My VW's were pretty much stock except rims but meticulously maintained. Had the Scirocco engine rebuilt after sludging and Passat had a new ZF tranny installed, new door locks, and a new sunroof with no problems from the aftermarket co?? |
