get to drive this this week, at 3 am i got some night driving with night vision on, can go threw 36 inches of water, i heard we get to off road them also in out training. for some reason a Beavis engineer put a 13k lb winch on them, were not allowed to use them, cause the vehicles weight 40k the cables are just snapping off they also have turrnts on top, that u control from a joystick inside, with a screen can hook up 50 cals. mark 19's 240 and 249 on them, we get to go to the range next week with the 50 cals and mark 19's. knowing my unit, we will each get about 500 rounds of 50 cal and godless amount of mark 19 ammo |

Your lucky you dont have the International MRAP. We were the first to use them in Iraq... yep... we took them on three missions and then parked them. On open roads there great, but if you have alot of bumps then you are going to be sucking. I was in Mosul for 15 months and in an urban environment there just too big. The rest of our unit used them but we stuck to our 1151s. Oh and the RG33s... now those are nice. |

Ft. Bragg isn't all that bad...you could be at Ft. Sill... I do like how high up it sits though. MUCH better view than the SUSV or 1165 that I get to ride around in. My only question is how well they will do in the deep snow that falls in eastern Afghanistan. I bet that thing would sink like a stone. And I am so glad my SUSV is coming with me in 6 months. BTW who are you with? I went to AIT at Bragg (long time ago) mob'ed at Bragg 2x for Africa, PLDC + BNCOC at Bragg, you get the picture... |

im with 7th sf group as a support guy, i work with computers n stuff, im a 25p, u want a vehicle to go threw the snow, u will get more traction that way, with the high group clearnce and 4x4 im sure it will be ok in the snow, with the forward looking cameras, we can see like 12km ahead of us in thermal vision, going to the range with it tommorow |
