darn DEER !!!!!!!!

Driving along M52, south of Jasper, and a doe jumped out of the woods, ran along side of the road for 20 ft. then, OUT in the middle of the road! #%&$@#%%&#!!!!!
I thought deer were supposed to be pretty sure on their feet. This one wasn't! As it got to the middle it changed it's mind and went back for the right shoulder. When it did, it's feet went out from under it!
Now ....... this all happened in the blink of an eye! I was slowing (actually, pretty much stomping on the brake! ) but it was too late!
As it went down, I ran over it's leg or legs. I stopped, but as I got out of the Jeep it got up and hobbled back into the woods. I don't think it will make it.
No damage to the Jeep except that weird crappy smell coming from the driver's seat! LOL!

Add another 1 to the list now! That's 6 deer, in 3 different vehicles, in 2 states, in 2 1/2 years! Farmer across and down the road has lived here forever and not hit ONE!!!

PS to Tom: I sent my resume to those guys this morning and they called me this afternoon. Wish that everyone else moved that fast. Had a good phone interview where they actually asked me some tech questions and not just all that "What's your greatest achievement in IT and your biggest failure" crapola. I've got the old fingers crossed about the job. (Only kind of fingers I got.) That place is fifty miles from the family farm and I would enjoy being a weekend country boy for a while. THANK YOU!

Thats great! Are they calling you in for a face to face interview then? Good luck, glad I saw it and was able to pass it along to the right person.
Good friend of mine was a morning show Disc Jockey there for several years. But he just quit recently.

No where in the Wayne to go, but I know of some back township roads that you need to use 4 low on. Down there none of the township roads are paved like up here

Huh?? I'm surprised there isn't since so many people at work go down there with their quads. Maybe trails are too small I guess. :?:

So uh, the right side ball joint on the rear anti-sway bar decided to SNAP on me today. Thinking about removing the entire thing.

Thoughts?

Without the rear sway bar, when your Jeep is hoisted in the air, will your brake lines get the full weight of your rear suspension? If yes, I'd replace.
I replaced my stock sway bar links with JBA's (longer and beefier) and other folks have used BWoody's (stock length and beefier) and are very happy with them.

Ohhhhhh well where do I start !
Tons of yard work that involved taking down 3 roughly 100 year old tress, disposing of everything, planting conifers, replacing plumbing along with toilet, building walls, building book cases, molesting my new 5x10 trailer, working on basement, replacing electrical, cutting down neighbors trees, cutting down trees and taking care of city property at then end of my dead end street, working on a custom 32 ford (well help him figure out brakes) which I'm scared to touch since he only has about 50,000 into it so far, chainssaw carving and I'm sure I'veforgotten a ton :pepper:
So not much really :ROTFL:
Edit: oh yeah and dropped 70 pounds working my tail off

I'm betting Hart fell off a ladder months ago and is making up all this work stuff.

Hey all been awhile. Been remodeling my mom's old farmhouse the last 4 months so my family can move in with her, Which has been a compelte bathroom gut/redo, whole house plumbing, cleaning of 42 yrs of mom's hoarding in the 3 upstairs bedrooms, rip out carpet and strip/sand the LR and DR floors and refinish and much more before we can move in. Still have to basically paint the house inside, expand a mud room 8 feet over in garage to make it a laundry and build my son a bedroom in the garage, I always get screwed in these deals. Spent most of the winter on my tractorplowing snow :banghead: now yard work of 2 houses, the srping farm animals ( 12 turkeys, 5 baby goats, and 15 chickens/6 guineas coming soon) bunch of stuff going on as church trustee, and now Tahoe blew out the sun shell in the tranny last week. Not to mention I broke my brand new cell phone after only 6 weeks back in late Feb, till not fixed so not had much internet access.

Looks like a lot been going on.

I see Chris is still here :banghead: :goink: :goink: :ROTFL:

Sorry to hear about the motor Lauren :(

Larry hits another deer. :dizzy:

Hart cutting down all the O2 makers causing "climate change" :-)r

Tom gets a job   and moving.... what's poor Larry going to do now, you are orphaning him :jester:

Congrats Tom. I lived in Westerville 4 yrs during college, nice town. It was pretty small way back then in '91, sure has grown up the last 10-15 yrs. Still have friends there. Also have friends in Pickerington, Powell, & Dublin, all nice places. Good luck on finding place.

So I do come out here with a KJ related question. Can I run without the front halfshafts? We have developed a drive line vibration, I already removed front driveshaft which helped a little, the new ujoint i replaced last spring is already wearing out :banghead: Still have vibration though. Seems to be light on accleration and worse between 15-25 on deceleration. I'm thinking it's gotta be a ujoint somewhere, trying to eliminate things.
Maybe a chance of tires, the new ones we had installed in Jan are already starting the feather on the outside, shop must have screwd up the alignment. From experience, this is more drive train related, not tires.

Tahoe !!!!
Wondered what happened to ya!
Sorry about your old Hoe but I know you'll get it fixed in no time
As far as running with out the CVs etc, sure you can. Just pull them out and plug the holes and you'll be fine. After I get moved if you're still having issues I'll be more than happy to try and help you out.
Sounds like a lot of work at your mothers but will make a nice place when done!
hang in there

If you do decide to run without it, keep us posted. I was thinking about disconnecting it to see how the KK handled and flexed, so it'd be nice to have a guinea pig lol

Holes in the Front diffy? What do you plug them with?

House is taking a loooonnnnggg time. Gutted the 42yr old bathroom in a 105 yr old home at Christmas, I found a lot of surprises. I just now got the 4' wainscoting on the walls and everything is in first coat of paint. Need to second coat, then finish out the little linen closet and put in the tile floor, then all fixtures/trim, bathroom will be done. Then I move on to expanding the mud room/new laundry room and building m son bedroom...My 80 yr old mom has no need to be going downstairs to do laundry.
Painted first coat on my daughter's bedroom floor last night. It's a wood floor, but soft wood and not fit to sand and refinish so we just decided to paint. It's actually the same flooring that is the subfloor under the downstairs hardwood floors. Guess that's how they did it back in the early 1900's, nice downstairs, utility upstairs.

Tahoe will live. I found out the sun shell is the main drive system for reverse & 2-4 gears. It only has 1st now. This is a big weak spot in the 4L60E's especially when pulling heavy loads. The coupler either breaks off from the shell or strips out the splines. Mine sounds like a babseball card in the spokes so I think I stripped them out. I will try to get pulled this weekend, my BIL is going to help me rebuild/upgrade.....only gonna cost me parts!!!

Just plug them up with a rag or something to keep the dirt out mainly

Yes bedroom floors were always made out of the cheaper / offcast lumber most times since you only went there to go to bed, not spend hours like some do today!
Lots of work but it will be worth it in the end.
Good to hear that the Tahoe will live to pull a camper/trailer another day!
