Hey Tahoe, Hart, Megalos...

Great to see ya'll back on the forum - missed ya!

Tahoe brought up a good point, Tom. What's Larry gonna do without you? Especially after he hits another deer and needs repairs on his Jeep

Tom, did you find a place around C-Town yet?

Bob

Good news! I got the KK back today and it feels like a brand new Jeep with the remanufactured Jasper engine. It is so quiet at idle it makes you think the engine isn't running, but it is. So smooth on takeoff, too. It feels like driving a tank after scooting around in a low-slung '96 Tacoma for the last two weeks. 8) I like having a 2014 Liberty! :JEEPIN: Since it is in effect a brand new engine with zero miles, I'll need to change the oil after the first 500 miles of break-in. I plan to go only 3000 miles between oil changes thereafter and give it lots of TLC.

I feel your pain, I have to cut an ash down before I move that ash borers killed, just for liability reason and I want the fire wood at my new house  I have a bunch of old trees that will have to come down at my mom's after we move in, just dead or getting ready to fall where they shouldn't. already have 4 that have fallen on the field fences I have to get cut up and repair the fence.

   found the vibration in the wife's Libby. Pulled the rear driveshaft, the back ujoint felt a little lose. Pressed out the first cap, the needles all just fell out with a litte rusty dust. Not good. Press out the other side, needles didn't fall out cause there wasn't any, mostly dust with little pieces of the needles. :dizzy:
Pressed in new ujoint both ends, slapped her back in and vibration is GONE!!!!
I'm so glad I have the "I got it free" 20 ton press in the barn, definitely not selling that in the moving/yard sale.
So wierd that the vibration was in the back, but felt like up front. My wife first thought it was front brake pulse when it first started.

Hard to follow vibrations at times in a unibodied vehicle. Sound/vibes etc can travel from one end to the other and you're stuck chasing them everywhere
Glad you found it though, had to have been bad for a while to be that rusted. Most times they will pretty much be solid from the rust

I've got 3 trees to take down at the home place as well, ones a willow tree that is going to be a b****. Going to have to take down clothes line and move some other things to drop it where I want to. Others are an old hickory ( will be some good firewood) and an old oak tree that was there when my Grandfather was walking past it to go to school. hard to tell how old it is since he always told me it was a big tree back when he can first remember ( 1911-1912)

Yea vibration was all coming for the front or so it felt. I am surpirsed it just showed up the last couple weeks as bad as the bearings were, but it's fixed.

I have an oak to take down at mom's. Dad planted two of them about 12 years ago.....too close. They are actually killing each other as the inwards limbs are all started to die out. If I cut down the one, maybe I can save the other since it seems to be doing the best and has more inwards limbs still living.

Nice! My daughter may be moving to Westerville by the end of the year so my wife and I can visit her, then they can go to Easton while I swing by Mudd's Garage. Perfect! :pepper:
