Spotted Towstrap the other day, looks like he added some more HAM and CB stuff to get better reception

How many states over can you receive with that setup?

I'm sure that I shouldn't admit that I have a 5500 watt generator, but no good way to haul it until I find a smallish utility trailer (or one of those neat military Jeep trailers). And I sure wouldn't run it while going mobile. I don't think I could stand the air drag on all that stuff either. My gas mileage is poor enough with what I have already done to my Liberty. Ham radio, like Jeeping, is another hobby that can tie up a lot of time and dollars! And, as long as you (me) stay out of the water with your radio equipment, it will last a long time. Towstrap

That's actually a SkyWarn vehicle. He goes into area of bad weather and is able to get local readings on tornado's hurricanes and such and can then broadcast long range to news stations so that they can inform their viewers.
