so moose i took my trusty .40 that i carry every day to a gunsmith yesterday because he offered me a deal on getting some work done. i have worn most of the bluing off of the slide and it got a tiny bit of rust on some of the corners from being stored in my car for a bit and he offered to take it down to bare metal and parkerize it black for me and hope that helped it to hold up better. I feel so lonely without my usual carry gun though. I had to go to carrying my glock 9mm :( sad days

Funny, I've driven ( legally) over 41 years and have never felt lonely not having a 40 or 9 in whatever I was driving. Maybe you better stay home for a few days if you're scared
Now back in the day I may of missed having a 40 ouncer but thats a bit different

Sorry to say its a different world. Back in the day you probably picked up hitch hikers and helped strangers without a second thought.

Yes that is true , to a point, but also way too many people carrying guns who can shoot at a target but would crap their pants and shoot someone innocent if something happened.

Chero-coat or however you spell...but I don't have a oven to get part hot enough for it. I've dura-coated a few things, trying to get more into this summer to make some extra cash. But its pretty tough if done right. I've only done a couple the got beat up but they were gunner gun (comp guns) so they saw a bunch of abuse

alright now that i am home...

Mudd i never know when you are serious or kidding or just trying to get a rise out of me so i tend not to comment anymore because if you dont jump on me the 501 miraculously jumps in and makes all kinda of comments waiting for me to say something stupid.

Anyways here it goes.

When you were my age mudd you could go around and never lock a door and loan anyone $30 and expect it back rather then get your identity stolen and your credit ruined. You could walk down the street at night with out worry muggings or worse.

sadly times have changed and I not only have to worry about protecting myself but also my wife and child. How would I feel if we were out and something happened? be it a mugging or rape or what have you and I could have done something about it and couldnt because i didnt bring a weapon or didnt have one?

I will take the boy scout approach: It is better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Your comment about people not knowing how to use their weapon in the heat of the moment is true but trust me half of most police forces are worse! Trust me though I am good ;) its been tested

I know lots of folks who never lock their doors, never remove the keys from their vehicle etc yet today!, OK some major cities sure but to me thats an invalid point. It's not a "back then or today thing", PEOPLE now a days are what make the fear that you have to have a gun. There have always been people who have tried to rob others, to rape them whatever , its not a it was that way back then thing.
It still comes down to way too many folks getting guns just to say they have them but again would fill their britches if they were ever faced with shooting someone or defending themselves.
Do you know how many I have taken out hunting only to hear, "oh it's so cute I can't shoot that, or I just can't kill anything" what would they do with a person standing in front of them?

well mudd i dont live in the "safe" country. and yes i agree that a large percent of the population shouldnt own/carry a gun but there is nothing that I can do about that. Also, i wasnt talking about that. I brought up the fact that I carry my gun every day and I miss it when I dont have it.

Anytime you want to go hunting with me or target shooting you just let me know ;) I have some deer and turkey and pheasant and duck in my freezer that know i am a good shot

And then there are people that fear good people owning guns - who's rational? :goink:

so not to change the subject but i have to decide what i am going to do about lights on my rocklizard gecko basket. I have the hella 700ffs with the hid conversion and they are bright as hell and that was my plan but i have about $200 in those 4 and someone just offered me $350 for them. Honestly i want to put a led bar up there and be done with it but 350 wont buy me a good one. what to do... what to do... what to do... :5SHOTS:

ready for everyone's :2cents: as long as it is productive
