well i was going to make another thread for this but lets face it this is all spam anyway...so...something jeep related :D

As some as you know I have another grill I am going to pick up Saturday. well I of course have plans for it. I originally just planned on painting it black and throwing it on and calling it a day keeping my original grill safe and still silver :P Well now i plan on putting the jk amber running/turn lights in it and using LEDs of course. Now I just have to decide, go cheap and just run an amber led bulb in the jk amber housings or I saw a cool video where someone did clear lenses and used switchback leds where they were white until the turn signal was used and it switched to amber on/off then went back to white when it was done. I like this option of course but it is going to be very expensive.

I may have to turn on the ol' beast computer to run some photoshop to show you guys what i am talking about but i think most of you understand what i am trying to do.

Thoughts?

whatever switchback is , sounds better on a silver KJ , black or other colors not so much but silver OK
Why paint it black though? I still don't understand the concept of painting the grill a different color, and then with the ARB up front on yours, would be way too much darker colors with the silver body.

well i was kinda thinking the same...the black might get lost with the arb

http://www.jkfreaks.com/forums/showthread.php?4508-Jk-with-clear-turn-signals-and-led-v-leds-switchbacks

watch the second video. i think it gives better representation as to switchbacks

the think is i could do the jk ones with amber lenses and leds for maybe $30 total (after shipping) and the clear with switchbacks would run at least $75

2x http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/3156-3157LED-C total ($8)
2x housings/lenses at rockauto (9.71 + shipping) total ($27.05)
2x http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/LED-Resistor 6ohm x 50w total ($10)

so lets just call it a cool $50 and it gets my turn out of my arb and on my grill. I like this for two reasons. People have had nothing but water issues with the 05-07 arb turn signals AND that means I can put other lights in those holes :D

Now I have already been looking at other side lights for my ARB because there aren't any. So people on my sides dont know if i am signaling or not if they are past my tail lights. These are what I have been looking at:
http://www.amazon.com/iJDMTOY-Sequential-Flashing-33-SMD-Mirror/dp/B008L5JMH8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375976523&sr=8-1&keywords=led+sequential+turn+signal
http://www.amazon.com/CUSTOM-DYNAMICS-ACCENT-BAR-AMB/dp/B0041QK4FU/ref=sr_1_32?ie=UTF8&qid=1375976559&sr=8-32&keywords=led+sequential+turn+signal

now those aren't the cheapest prices, just the quickest to reference

I wondered how long it would take you to figure it out!
Also now that you've discovered that part, unless 05-07s are different
only way to swap out the grill is to pull the ARB out about two-three inches each time ans swap it. In the 8 years I had mine the grill never came off just due to that fact :banghead:
