I have not been there for a while so I decided to take a look....
to my surprise, in no more than 2 years, they have quadrupled in size/membership

Active users at my login time: 1239
64K threads
700K+messages
31K members

totally understood that this is not only a jeep site but all 4x4s + more.
Still - amazing numbers

How many "members" are bots/spammers? Over the years, we have probably deleted several thousand bogus accounts on this forum alone.

Many forums where you can look at the members list you will see tons of bogus accounts. Not saying that is the case there, just gotta wonder.
