Wicked cool! Very similar to 3, but adds a lot of new features, like a coverflow style history and favorites page.

I'm usually not big on beta browsers but I'm running it on a brand new (2 week old) 17" MacBook Pro. Yeah the new 'Green' MacBook Pro. Whatever. :roll:

I'm really enjoying it however.

As for Safari 4, one cool new feature is -- command click from the search will open your search in a new tab - about freakin time. Another big difference in Safari 4 that wasn't in Safari 3 is the "Top Sites" page. It is very similar to Speed Dial in Firefox. Also with "Top Sites" page, you can search your web history in Cover Flow view, and you can also use Cover Flow when you view your bookmarks.

Cons I've found so-far, If you have anything in the input manager, it will crash, so bye bye ad-blocking for now. Additionally, the interface is going to get some getting used to, specifically the tab placement atop. I'm not crazy about at the moment.

But what I like best actually, is that Safari 4 now (finally) doesn't use 30% of your CPU when idle, for no apparent reason. Anything Java heavy is waay faster too.

Sorry, forgot to include, for the first time ever with a beta version of Safari, v4 overwrites v3, but you can uninstall v4 returning to v3 if you require.

Command Clicking for Tabbed browsing was available starting in Safari 3. Just have to check it in your preferences pane.
I run the "adblocker" plugin for Safari 3, so far it still works with 4, no crashing.

And Yeah the new placements of tabs above the toolbars vice below is taking some getting used too. But I'm still digging it....

I tried to install but it says I need OSX 10.5.1 and I have 10.4.11. I checked for updates and nothing. Do you need to be running Leopard?

Don't think so...It offered leopard or tiger when I D'led the DMG...

I''m pulling the tiger version for ya now. I'll post it in my mobile me so you can grab it.

Well been using it for a few days, and over all impression is this version is blazing fast! Biggest complaints so far is the lack of a progress bar, the Tabs at the top of the page (slowly getting used to them though) and the rload button being gone (found out today it was just moved to the right side of the address bar, where the snap back icon used to be :oops:

).

Edit: found benchmarks results for a variety of platforms. (42x faster than IE7

)

Did some digging and found some terminal commands that fix all of my gripes (except the reload button, by I usually hit Command-R anyway)
