She lost her CC permit because she was openly carrying? How stupid is that? If there is not a law forbidding her to open-carry at the soccer field, then the court is way out of bounds. |

No, she lost CC because somebody spotted her concealed weapon underneath her clothing and objected. Sheriff then tried to find a clause in the laws, something at all, to revoke the permit. As a result, she has to OC. Anyway, Sheriff is likely to lose. |

But at least he took some sort of action. I don't see why they would complain, and I don't see why he made that call the way he did. But I would rather be paying the salary of a sherriff that does something than nothing. |

So now matter how wrong or illegal the sheriff's actions are, it is better that he did something? How about having the guts to say "What she did is not illegal in Lebanon, PA?" Maybe that is what the sheriff should have done. That is better than paying him to bow to pressure & illegally take this woman's rights, Although no court has been involved as of yet, I am pretty certain that there will be one eventually. The best advice that I have for Sheriff DeLeo & his employer: write the check. |

Anyway, Sheriff is likely to lose. Oh, I read "I’m just a soccer mom who has always openly carried (a firearm), and I’ve never had a problem before,” to mean that she was openly carrying when the other parents complained. Whatever, doesn't matter. But, if she was "caught" carrying concealed, I guess she wasn't very good at the whole "concealed" part.

seeing as how I live 15 miles from Lebanon, PA where this happened, I can understand her wanting to carry her gun with her everywhere. As a parent/coach of youth soccer myself, I don't feel she need to be displaying it at the field!! |

She wasn't "displaying it" (until they took away her CC permit), THEN and only then was she forced to "open carry" it ... |

It was not "concealed" well at all, the bottom of the holster was hanging out the bottom of her shirt. Really it's all a moot point, if she had a permit to carry then more power to her. I was just saying that I didn't understand the need for it at a youth soccer game. I'm not trying to stir the gun debate pot by any stretch of the imagination. I'm all for people legally carrying, I do at times, I just feel that there is a time and place for everything and I feel that you don't need to make a statement by carrying one in an environment like that. Again this is my $.02, to each his/her own though. |

Well see here's the thing though ... the soccer field not so much but what about the places to/from the soccer field? Put this way: you wear seatbelt yeah? What if you KNEW you absolutely will need that seatbelt this evening at 5:30PM going home, what would you do? Stay at work instead? |

I'm assuming she has a glove compartment or even space underneath her seat to store it while at the game!! you're absolutely right, traveling is when you need it. I always carried driving through Lebanon. I worked down there for a while. Like i said, to each his own but things could have been handled differently on both sides and there wouldn't have been an issue. |

If the crime rate is high enough to warrant carrying a firearm to and from soccer games, then I would not be leaving it my car. It may get stolen. |

Saying that you don’t need a gun at a soccer field is silly. You do not get to choose where you will become a victim, but you do get to choose to not be a victim. If there is little crime in your area great, but if one of those two murders a year happens to you or a loved one it wont seem so impossible. Sheep, Wolves, and Sheep dogs figure out what group you want to be in. |

A lot of people who are CC licensed carry whenever it is legal. I know I do. Once you get used to carrying, it just doesn't feel right when you don't. Kind of like leaving without your wallet or cell phone. I've been home for about 5 hours, and just noticed that I'm still carrying when I saw this thread. |

I'm licensed to CCW in all 50 states. If someone spotted her CC than she's not a very smart permit holder. Not saying she shouldn't CC but she's not the brightest. The whole point of a CCW permit is to not be seen w/ a gun that scares the sheeple... this is what can happen if the concealment is compermised. Do I think her permit should be revoked.... no but she should be taught what the word "concealed" means. Stupid stupid stupid move on her part. Remember there are three types of people. Sheeps, wolves, and sheep dogs. Sheeps= Blind and submissive and mostly victims Wolves= Criminals that feed on sheeps Sheep Dog= Protectors of sheep and defenders from wolves I'm a sheep dog and although my sheep can be stupid, I love them to death. I doubt this woman has bridged the gap from sheep to sheep dog. |

Dude, that's a bad area to be in. One of the most complex and divided countries in the region, Lebanon has been on the fringes, and at times at the heart, of the Middle East conflict surrounding the creation of Israel. |

Umm Burchie, you are talking about Lebanon Pennsylvania right? because thats where this new story came from. If she was in Lebanon the country I'd be carring much more than a glock. A SAW m249 would be prudent.
