I just found this in the Wall Street Journal. :shock:

I guess it makes sense. Dodge trucks outsell GM trucks and nobody has a competitve "Jeep" product or line up. The Charger is gaining respect with police departments, so GM has a car that will go up against the Crown Vic.

Did anybody catch the Sarah Connor Chronicles this week? Dodge sponsored the whole show and had 5 or 6 mini commercials during the whole hour. They also are using product placement in the show. Main characters where driving a Dodge Ram Truck and using all the gadgets like GPS and Sidewall Locker in the box of the truck. They also had a small chase scene in a Nitro! Why can't we get Jeep to do something like this? :lol:

They had a Jeep, a new Jeep Green Wrangler, in the season finale last year. It got blown up. I think T:SCC is supposed to get cancelled midseason anyway.

Ford sponsors Dirty Jobs and they're featured heavily in the show and during commercials.

Nissan sponsored an episode of Heroes last season and the new Rogue was heavily advertised both in the episode and during the commercial breaks.

I've seen the Dog Whisperer drive a Wrangler Unlimited, Liberty and Commander on his show.

When talking about TV shows, movies etc, it's all about sponsership/paid advertising. Chrysler has made some strides over the last few years in a car few lines, but overall the American people got a bad taste in their mouths with the super bad quality for so many years, it's hard to bring most back.

Lena Headey (Sarah Connor)? She was hotter as Queen Gorgo in 300.

I had a huge crush on Shirley Manson back in the day (I've got a thing for redheads with accents), but she looks horrible on the show. I don't know if she just got old, or if it's the lighting or the make up or what...but I'm pretty disappointed.

I drive a GM daily, yesterday both my Astros were driven.

However Grumpy wasn't driven away from home, instead I used it to break up some 8' x 8' shipping pallets that I'm rebuilding into garage shelves.

7 miles till Grumpy hits 300K.

Yep...my "extra" car is a 1988 Olds 98 Delta Regency. It is the last of the many Oldsmobile I have owned going back to the 1st I ever purchased. GM left me my killing the Olds line and there was no comparison of the other GM 4x4 to a Jeep when I needed one for my new short but back road drive to work in 2004 so I got my KJ. Earlier this year when the 2001 Olds Silohoutte mini van was at the end of life in the tranny we got a real nice 08 Grand Caravan for a great deal to replace it.

Personally, I'd rather see Chrysler stay solo than to take on all of the GM baggage. I think a GM/Chryco would be a painful death of two old companies. There is little chance of a friendly integration of the two styles of company. It would most likely make the Daiamler "integration" look friendly.
