Being an Archaeologist.... I've been there, just never shot. I have had shotguns, rifles, and bow and arrows pulled on me and my crews. The number one rule is DON"T ARGUE!!!! Turn around and leave. The worst was in Delaware (the state) the owner of the property knew we were supposed to be there, but the (drunk) tenant farmer did not... And was not too happy finding multiple people with shovels.... digging holes.. in his freshly planted crops... So he drove onto the field that we were working in, and jumped out of his truck (which was still moving) with a shotgun! He pumped it once and said you @!#*^%$!@# "transplants" have 10 seconds to get the %&#$ off of my land! And shot it into the air... We dropped all of our stuff and ran to the road... Called the sheriff and had an armed escort while we finished digging our holes.... It sucks about the guys arm..... But he would probably still have it if they would have all just turned around and left without arguing |

Yep. There is such a thing as being "dead right." What good is being right if you are dead? F'ed up situation, hopefully it works out in the end. |

worst day like that i've ever had simply resulted in having my gf pick salt shot out of my back with a needle and tweezers i certainly hope that fella recovers did he or did he not end up losing his arm? i've read 3 conflicting results either way, that really really bites.. |

Sucks, but a very good reason to make sure you screw around on private property... Here in Ohio, it may only apply to your dwelling, but you can use lethal force on intruders. Don't know about Oregon... Like I said, sucks, but there's a lot of "He didn't deserve it" running around, but I wouldn't say that's 100% true. Sucks. |

maybe it's a personal thing, but I don't care if you're taking a dump in my flower bed, as long as you keep your distance and don't move too fast you'll be allowed to leave with both your arms, even if it is in a squad car but on the other hand it goes back to a very accurate and old saying, don't play games or argue with old men, especially if they're too old to fight and have a gun 'cause they will shoot you instead of taking the chance on your disarming them, and that doesn't take into consideration any mental issues they may have
