**just.ordered.a.new.keyoard***Alright.guys.so.since.the.KJ.is.totalled.were.going.to.buy.a.used.car. with.the.6600.they.gave.us.plus.a.little.of.our.own.money.looking.for.something.in.the.2000-8000.price.range.so.tell.me.what. you.think.we.should.get..requirmemts.are.has.to.be.a.4wd.and.dad.says.no.wranglers  .This.has.to.last.me.all.through.college.as.well.so.5.more.years.i.added.a.few.choices.but.feel.free.to.suggest.whatever!.Thanks!

I voted GC. The only thing I'd be skeptical on is the mileage. If it's going to be an DD to, the higher miles might come back to bite ya. If you need for college to travel what not, you'd honestly be best looking at another Liberty and slowly start beefin it up (that's why I chose the liberty over the wrangler) at least until college is over. My vote's gonna go cherokee though, just cause I saw some semi souped up rebuilt Cherokee's lately with low miles on the rebuilds, for only about 5grand. That even leaves some left over for new tires and a lift

I think a XJ would be a good choice as well just make sure it's 91+ so you get the H.O 4.0L. I got my old one for $1500 and had around $500 into the lift and it would take me anywhere but sadly I have it no more (DAM MICE  )

All these KJ-got-totalled-out threads have ThunderbirdJunkie wondering the same thing. If he were in your position, it would either be: A: 03-5 KJ with a 5 speed and a V6...preferably Sport, Rennie would be doable as well B: '02-4 WJ with a 4.7 and LOW RANGE C: go into debt again  and get a JK Sahara with a stick and rear locker (not a Rubicon)
D: a fast car, and another old busted up Isuzu Trooper or Mitsu Montero to beat off road |

why doesnt your dad want you to get a Wrangler?? Id say the GC for the towing power and still being a Jeep, just swap the LP D30 for a HP D30 
then the Cherokee because I had a 4.0 and ax-15 and got awesome MPG and it was a great Jeep or another KJ |

With things the way they are, and with all the crap going on with Chrysler, I almost wish I'd waited for a good deal on a 4 door JK. None the less I love the Libby now that i got it, and by the time I'm done any JK would be envious

Cherokee by far!!! My brother rolled his 92' wrangler and dad said same thing, so he got a Cherokee, he got a Rock Krawler 7 up lift kit on it with 37's and loved it, not to much to lift it that high either, you can buy one with 100k on it for around 2-3 tho and then lift and tires for about 1000

I voted Cherokee for 2 reasons: Front solid axle and the 4.0L I6. Its going to be hard to find a clean one in Michigan. They're all probably going to be rusted to death. |

Man I don't know if it's doable in your situation or not, but maybe see about getting a Grand Cherokee CRD or Liberty CRD. They are more than you are looking to spend, but offer you everything you need, particularly longevity. In fact, Endurance has one for sale in the for sale section that would be a very nice pickup. You could argue that if it needs to get you through college, then a diesel is an obvious choice. You get mileage, longevity, and great off-road ability, particularly in the Liberty CRD. But then again, I am partial. . .

What vehicle you choose depends what you want to do with it. Only you can really answer that. As far as the XJ, the only advantage in mind is that it has a SFA. With that in mind if you are not going to be doing extreme off-roading a SFA is not necessary. Tip of the day: You can mimic a space in your text by copying a space from some other text and pasting it wherever you want that space. IE you highlight a space in some text with your mouse and hit CTRL-C. This copies that space to the 'clipboard'. Then whenever you are typing and want to type a space you paste it in by hitting CTRL-V with your keyboard. Now instead of hitting the space bar you can just hit CTRL-V. |
