My wife got all nervous over a News Cast about copy machines retaining a copy of every document copied on them, like Social Security info, Passports,ect.
I did a Google search and found out that this is true for Digital Copy Machines, but oldies did not have hard drives. News Sources like CBS gloss over facts and can't let the whole truth get in the way of a good story.

Any one a Copy Machine Expert who can confirm my suspicions. Some how I think a Canon PC770 made before '95 has no hard drive.
I donated the Canon PC770 to AmVets and my wife is all worried.

digitals, if it's a copy to print only and not a copy to print to file (like a pdf) only maintain the copy in the /temp folder until the computer is restarted but even that is recoverable

same risk existed with old xerox companies, if someone wanted a copy of your stuff.. they hit the button an extra time

the copy is kept on your computer, only thing left in the printers memory is kept in volatile memory and drains out when power is removed

basically theres a buffer on the machine, in case your computer isn't ready for the information

sounds like CBS is having trouble finding worthy news stories agian
