Ok it has actually been about a month and her fur does not smell at all but her breath is still horrible!!! We have tried tomato soup, paste, sauce. brushing her teeth, milk bones, those green dog teeth cleaners. Even tried pickle juice. Anyone have any ideas????? |

If you can make it sweet enough with maybe some honey, possibly try some vinegar. Use it to brush the teeth/gums/tongue.... maybe helps? My parents dogs got into one a few years back, he ran through the house before anyone realized it.... house smelled for months. Never had the bad breath stuff though. |

Are you sure it's actually from the skunk? There's no reason for her mouth to be smelling from that, especially after that long. Dogs are constantly salivating, She'd of cleaned it out a while back. Do her teeth need to be cleaned? A scaling at the vet for her teeth does WONDERS if she has lots of tartar, or any rotting teeth. If she's older, get this checked. Dogs who are allergic to their food often have rancid breath. What do you feed her? MOST dogs are allergic to corn, wheat, and/or soy. And lots of lower-grade foods like Purina, Beneful, Kibbles & Bits, Ol Roy, etc have this crap in it. If you've ruled out tartar and rotting teeth, give her a food switch. Switch to somethine that is free of those things i listed above.. Some good brands to try: (prices are in Alaska, so we generally have more expensive stuff. but remember, the higher qualiy the food, the less you have to feed.) Prism (the purple bag is the only one that is corn free) $35 for a 40lb bag Taste of The Wild (I fed Pacific Salmon for a while, blue bag) $50 for a 30lb bag Orijen Eagle Pack Diamond Naturals Innova EVO (this is probably *the* best food, but very expensive) Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul There are more if you want to know, just ask. PM me for best results ;P P.S. I have 3 Australian Shepherds and I exhibit them in Conformation Shows, and I'm a Dog Groomer.. I know lots ;P |

I'm possitive that the smell started when she got sprayed by the skunk. She has had the same food sense she was a puppy and now she is almost 3. |
