Wind energy is one of the most underutilized forms of renewable energy in use today. Although the world makes use of only 1% of wind energy for electricity purposes, this percentage is steadily increasing. It is calculated that the total wind power on-land and off-shore to be 72 terawatts.

Wind energy is converted into electricity using a wind turbine. The blades on the wind turbine spin the shaft, which is connected to a generator. That generator uses its magnetic field to convert the energy into the electricity, which is then transported to a transformer. From there, it's converted to the appropriate voltage and amount.

Wind farms may not always be built on land terrains, such as hills. There are also offshore wind farms. The coastal areas are perfect because of the constant wind flow that is associated with the area. These farms possess usually three blade turbines which point towards the wind. They have highly developed wind turbines that have high efficiency and low torque. The wind farms investments have risen owing to this high technology

Up to 20% of the grid power can come from wind with out causing electrical grid problems. The way the experts explain it is, "The tail can't wag the dog".
Three Phase wind turbines do clean up crappy power and balance out the three phases of the grid.
Anti wind energy Bean Counters as well as wind energy proponents overlook this point, but people like me who work with three phase equipment appreciate the reduction of nuisance calls, needless service trips, and warranty claims caused by crappy three phase power on a grid that is in poor working condition. Our grid needs some upgrades which include New Technology Nuclear Power, Wind, and other sources.
Single phase wind turbines and single phase solar panels do basically nothing for the problems with the grid, but make the owner and a few others feel warm and fuzzy.
