I just had to do the same thing this past weekend. Ended up going with Time Warner digital cable internet. Dial-up is intolerable, Hughesnet was WAY too expensive for a fast connection. I've used Verizon wireless with my work laptop, and it's ok - if you have a strong signal. If you only get 1 or 2 bars, it's the same as dial-up. Not sure how cost-effective it is though, since it was company-issued, not reimbursed.

Can you get cable internet at your new house?

i have the verizon wireless wi-fi, its the little black pad that can host multiple connections, for me it works great i can watch netflix on my computer, run yahoo messenger, and still surf the web. but if you live in an area with tall buildings or lots of tree cover it can kill the signal.

I use Hughesnet at work and it is ok but then again I have dial up at home The hughesnet is fairly quick but we have connection problems whenever the weather is bad or when all 4 pc are online. I wouldn't pay for it.

We have the Verizon for my son's Droid.

Could the Aztecs have known, that in 2012 after a 4 year experiment, our country would cease to exist?

I ended up getting the new palm pre with the built in mobile hotspot. we put it on a a 3rd line and I am currently using it and it is just as fast as the DSL that we have at the place that we are staying right now. It only costs $40 a month for 5k or 5g or whatever it is. great plan but it will be another $40 if you don't sign up before the end of the month. I am locked into this pricing for the life of the contract.
