Monsoons. I used to miss a good ole thunderstorm that would roll in when I was a yonker in SE Kansas. It is usually dry with 15% humidity here in the upper arkansas valley. This year, we are sick of the rain. Everyday now, for the past 2 weeks, afternoon showers roll in. I can't spray for weeds because the rain will just wash it away. HauntaMouse probably likes it. I want my desert back!!!

You must be getting all the rain we aren't. We had a wet April/May/June, pretty much nothing in July, but an annoying sprinkle which makes it even more humid. I even started watering my grass to keep from totally losing it all ( glad I got a well... cheap water  ) The weather has been so screwy in the whole country the last year or so.

We have been getting about 1 1/2 inches a day. The desert hard pan soil doesn't soak it up. It seals it, then flash floods the rest.

We finally got a good t-storm last night, our electric was out for about 7 hrs. Yyeah, kinda of like you, the ground is so dry, the quick heavy rains doesn't help much, just cause quick floods. Hopefully it was enough to save my grass :?
