What would you do if....

A question that was put out to us at a conference

If all of the obstacles in your life were removed
( no debt, no time obligations etc. )
What would you do with your life

Lots of folks mention beaches, fruity drinks with umbrellas etc

Me, I would be traveling to the many small villages in Tanzania to either help at schools, passing out malaria netting or helping to build infrastructures for those living there.
I could do that the rest of my life and die happy.

If life had no obstacles there would be no reason to get out of bed nor any perception that anyone else needs help... just sayin'.

I'd like to show my kids that there is more to life than TV and Muncie Indiana. Would be really great to see the world myself, and in effect give them the world.

When I start pulling my hair out from the "she hit me!" banter, I'd go start building things. Imagine what you could do if time and cost were no issue.

Finally along the lines of what Tom said, it would be great to have the time and resources to lend a hand. Even small things like helping out obviously needy strangers unexpectedly.

It says if all the obstacles in YOUR life
but I guess the best place for you is in bed possibly
it would make the world a better place

I would first have to say to make sure my wife and kids are taking care of....whatever that would entail.
I first thought, man, buy me a Big ole Chevy truck & huge camper and travel the country, but then, like you Tom, I would probably join some type of construction ministry and travel doing rehab/building of churches/ homes/ whatever for the poor, weather destroyed homes, or whatever for missions/churches, maybe habitat.
We have a state group through our church association that does just that, but like you stated..."obstacles" are always in the way it seems.

My first thought was hiking, but then I saw Tom's answer... Yea, I'd probably go lend a hand somewhere, with a couple self-indulgent hiking breaks each year.

The same thing I'm doing now... that really wouldn't change my life at all other than I'd have some cooler toys and my trips would be longer.
