The car is so light, that if it were a Diesel powered car, it would get well over 150MPG or more.
It costs money to compress air and you will never get anymore out than what you put it, minus the efficiency losses.
A wind powered compressor or hydro powered compressor may be the cheapest way to take care of the problem.

I'd buy one. Put solar panels on it to help generate power for the compressor. With all of the sun we get here, solar panels will be very effective.

Of course, the big oil magnates and other companies will find a way to kill this project or make us pay for our air.

Tokyojoe: The Government will find a way to tax the Air or Sunlight.
I would bet the Government is working on a way to tax gravity, I can just see the toll booth on the bottom of all the mountain roads.
