anyone have an escape/hideaway/cabin in the woods/2nd home?

Finally realized a long dream of ours by purchasing a cabin/house in Big Bear, Ca. where we can escape to.

900 SF, 1 room downstairs w/ full bath, 2 loft rooms upstairs, all the modern conveniences, 2 car garage w/ laundry, Lots of huge mature trees w/ great rock and custom brick landscaping, etc. Great place to hang out after wheeling in the mountains. Love spending time up there!

Where is your secret hideaway?

AWESOME! i'm very jealous. looks like a very nice place! congrats on that purchase.

My grandparents used to have a large cabin on a peninsula up in northern WI. I used to go up there all the time with them. I really miss that place, got sold when my grandpa died. My dream would be to have a place up in that area again. My girlfriends parents have been looking for one for a few years now, i hope they find one soon!! I wanna use it!

Congrats on the new place John!!!
Everyone needs somewhere to run off to and hide out for a few days at a time
I have 80 acres ( left sold the rest) in Southeast Ohio to get away from it all but certainly not Big Bear area of California

Plus if I want to really get away .......
The finishing touches of hooking up the plumbing etc is taking place next week

Congratulations, Big Bear is beautiful.

I have a cabin on a 700 acre lake way up by the Michigan Upper Peninsula. Its a drive from were I live but worth it.

Here's my property at 7,000 feet in the Zuni Mountains. We sold our log home and planning to build another log home.

Well you did include; " / 2nd home ".

I have a second home but it's not in or near the woods. More like the next town over in the western suburbs of Chicago.

Yeah, trust me; I "get it". I'm considering retirement on the north east coast of Tahoe.
